Wet Coniferous Needles In Scale
Using AK GLOSS VARNISH & Abteilung 502 Oils
In addition to the leaf post using coffee filters seasonally coloured with acrylics and leaf punches for deciduous tree species, here is a coniferous effect.
Static Grass 2 mm in length will work. Longer static grass needs to be cut to scale length.
The grass fibres can be coloured to emulate fresh and older brownish dried needles.
Static Grass Conversion on the 1/35 Scale
- white pine needles are 6 (2.36 in) to 12 (4.72 in) centimetres long
- 2 mm static grass is 2.74 in long
- 4 mm is 5.48 in which is a relational scale for White Pine
- 2 mm static grass is the optimum length for the majority of coniferous species with the exception of Ceder.
- pine needles are thin so shaft diameter is relational in size
